Read the following article on snow fall & math! Watch the 1 minute clip that can be found in the article. 

In the article, you learn about the ratio that can be used to calculate snow fall and rain fall equivalencies. Over the past 2 weeks, our country has been slammed with snow - especially the east coast! Research 15 cities across the US that had snowfall since Christmas. Be sure you are using reliable websites. Record the city & snow fall total in INCHES using the chart attached to this post (or recreated on loose leaf). 

When research is complete, use the ratio of 15 inches of snow to 1 inch of rain to calculate the equivalent amount of rain fall in  your 15 cities. You MAY NOT use a calculator - SHOW YOUR WORK & do NOT "accidentally leave at home."
